Part 4: What is Being Done?

The answer to this question is not enough. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) 2007 report outlines the anthropolocial effect on climate. It shows that humans have caused an additional warming effect on the environment and that warming is occuring. Greenhouse gas emmisions along with deforestation contributing. In Brazil deforestation is especially evident. The Amazon rainforest is one of the biggest carbon sinks in the world and its reduction in size by human logging and clear cutting for crop land reduces Earth's resources for assimilating atmospheric carbon.

As temperatures continue to rise more species are put at risk of extinction and the biodiversity of our environment shrinks, creating unstable environments that affect humans as well. The political obstacles to climate change are incredibly difficult to overcome and are the main reasons for the lack of movement on this front. It is difficult for second and third world nations to abide by environmental standards when they view industrialization as necessary to bring their nations from poverty.

  1. I feel like you don't spend a lot of time talking about the ectotherms. Solid blog though, but it just feel a rehash of Dr. Horwith's lecture.

  2. Your blog has great research evidence to back up your topic, I feel like you could go more in depth with your own commentary about ectotherms and the main environment you are focusing on with regards to the impacts from climate change. I think there is more to be said about your topic and that you should feel free to elaborate more for your readers benefit. Your topic and your blog are very well done as is.

  3. Overall, your blog is very easy to read and understand, but the main focus seems a little lost in all of the descriptions of the effects of climate change. I think, like the comments before me, that if you were more specific with your examples it would make your blog more effective. Another last minute comment is an idea for you to add an anthropological tab since you mention it in this last section, how do humans factor into this situation?
